University of York's International Charity of the Year

Tuesday 4th January 2011

In November 2010, Kirsty Patterson, chair of MfH's York Branch, confirmed that Minds for Health had been adopted as the University of York's International Charity of the Year.

Minds for Health has had active student groups at York since 2002 and continues to recruit volunteers, fundraise and carry out advocacy work locally. However, being formally adopted by the student union's RAG (raising and giving) committee will be a major boost to our financial support and local profile. Importantly it will allow MfH to plan with partner organisation Antara to initiate its pioneering community-based prevention programme integrating general and mental health interventions.

MfH wishes to thank the University of York for its boldness of vision in supporting mental health where governmental and international funding is limited.
